It is really beautiful! It might not be that comfortable so maybe it would have to be more decorative. To me, $600 is a ton of money so I would never even entertain the thought but hey, if you have it then go for it!!!

Wow! That is truly a gorgeous set, but paying $600 is a lot. I'm sure it's antique and made of cast iron, correct? It just sounds like a whole lot of money. The funny thing is, I just found a set that is similar to that set, coz I've been wanting one also and only paid $40 for it. It's old, white and chippy, but made of aluminum, but totally worth it for me. But then again, I'm cheap that way ;-). Come by my blog when you get a chance, I posted the set this week. Good luck with whatever you decide. Again, it is a beauty!

Hi Lorene, it is very beautiful... I agree with Marie, definitely make sure that it is antique and made of iron, if so, talk to the hubby and let him know how much it means to you, and I'm sure he would want you to have it!!!

I too think $600 is a lot. However if it's something that you really LOVE?? And you'll use it till death do you part? Then it's worth every penny. And if you didn't get it you would probably regret it. That's just my two cents *winks* And that said I spent wayyyy beyond what I was comfortable with this weekend on a pillow for just the same reason. So high five spendy *slap* for getting what we really wanted! And yahoo for hubbs that encourage it! *winks* Vanna

Oh Yes...we need you to have this..(Big Smile)so we can see it as you decorate with beautiful pillows, set out the beautiful tea set and other tea things that you would use more often if you had THIS set and of course it will always put you in the perfect frame of mind and that makes for a wife in a good mood! Try to knock the price down, tell the dealers..Ohh I only have a small budget and this reminds me so much of my wonderful grandmother! Oh you must sell it to me as I would care for it forever..then he wont think you are just going to re-sell it higher..give it a try..

I was just about to join the cheerleading to say you NEED this set, when I saw your update that you got it. Yay for you! If its a true Victorian-era antique and made of heavy cast-iron, $600 is a steal because it looks to be in perfect shape and you will have it forever. It is just GORGEOUS, and you would not be able to live with yourself if you let it pass by -- trust me on this, I still remember mournfully all the "great ones" that got by me!

A pretty floral tablecloth (or not, the set is so beautifully ornate!) and some cushy pillows is all you need to make this set 100% comfortable (cast iron can be a little hard on the backside!).

Congratulations to you! Your dear hubby is a keeper, that is for sure!

XOXOXO

Kimberly

P.S. Hope you arm is doing better and better every day!

I just posted two tall stools in the same pattern that I bought on Craigslist. Personally, I don't think $600 is much for the entire set, but I live near Chicago and prices can be higher near the city!
